Physicochemical properties: light yellow or yellow powder or orange yellow powder, slightly soluble in methanol, but difficult to dissolve in water or ethanol. Purpose: biochemical research. It is commonly used for cell viability, cell proliferation or cytotoxicity detection based on MTT detection methods. Because MTT has a positive charge, it can pass through the cell membrane and be reduced by mitochondria to form purple methamphetamine dye. Organic solvent is required to dissolve MTT methamphetamine dye. Detection of dehydrogenase, determination of enzyme activity in biochemical studies, determination of NADH2, NADPH2 and diaphorase.
