Physicochemical properties: dark Bordeaux red to dark purple brown crystal powder. Insoluble in cold water, slightly soluble in hot water, bright red and blue, slightly soluble in ethanol, bright blue, and orange red in concentrated sulfuric acid. The aqueous solution is purple when added with sodium hydroxide. Melting point: 174-180 ℃

Purpose: biochemical research. Used to detect protein bands after electrophoresis. 5-10 times more sensitive than naphthol blue black B and bromophenol (0.5 μ G / cm2 protein).
