Physicochemical properties : light yellow powder. It is a homomonomer polymer with 25-30 L-lysine residues produced by Streptomyces albicans fermentation, and is composed of the essential amino acid L-lysine of human body ε- Amino group with another l-lysine α- Carboxyl formation ε- Amide bond. Molecular weight: about 3000
Purpose: biochemical research. A new broad-spectrum bactericidal and bacteriostatic agent. It has broad-spectrum bacteriostasis, and has strong inhibitory effect on the propagation of gram-positive and negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, yeast, lactic acid bacteria, Staphylococcus aureus, and has a certain inhibitory effect on mold. As a preservative ε- PL has the advantages of high safety performance, strong solubility in water, good thermal stability and wide application range. It has strong bacteriostasis in neutral and slightly acidic environmental conditions. Since it is heat stable, it can be heat treated after addition, so it can inhibit some heat-resistant bacillus, etc. in addition, ε- PL also inhibited some tadpole like non contractile long tailed phages.
