Physicochemical properties(the following information is for reference only): white to off white or light yellow amorphous powder. Almost odorless and tasteless. It is a natural polysaccharide, taken from pig or bovine intestinal mucus or bovine lung. It is hygroscopic. It is easily soluble in water, soluble in saline solution, and almost insoluble in ethanol, ether, acetone, chloroform and benzene. The pH of the 1% aqueous solution is 6.0 to 7.5. Molecular weight: 6000 ~ 20000
