Physicochemical properties: light yellow or yellow powder. Soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol. Insoluble in methanol, chloroform, ethyl acetate and other organic solvents, its aqueous solution has stable antibiotic activity. Stability: it will not degrade when stored at room temperature for two years, and the biological potency will not be significantly reduced by light; The high temperature of 120 ℃ for 4 hours will not cause the decrease of biological titer; It is hygroscopic, but it will not cause changes in biological potency after drying.
Purpose: biochemical research. Interfere with bacterial protein synthesis. Specifically, it interferes with the synthesis of riboprotein in prokaryotes and inhibits harmful bacteria in animals. It is effective for Gram-positive bacteria and some Gram-negative bacteria. It is also effective for some Mycoplasma bacteria. The most sensitive are Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Staphylococcus aureus, mycoplasma, etc. The bactericidal ability to Escherichia coli and Salmonella is stronger than the antibacterial ability.
