Physicochemical properties: White acicular crystal or yellowish freeze-dried powder.Molecular weight 25000 (pancreatic).。Soluble in water, it is a broad-spectrum protein hydrolase characterized by decomposing insoluble elastin. It can be extracted from animal pancreas or fermented by microorganisms.Elastase extracted and purified from animal pancreas is an endopeptidase with 240 amino acid residues and isoelectric point Pi9 5. The best pH is 8 1-8.8. At 4-6 ℃, pH value 5-10, the enzyme activity can be maintained for several days. The lyophilized powder can be stored below 5 ℃ for 6-12 months. It will be inactivated in case of strong acid and can catalyze the hydrolysis of other peptide bonds formed by elastin peptidase or neutral amino acids.
Purpose: Biochemical research.Microbial elastase, like trypsin, has a wide range of hydrolysis characteristics. It can not only degrade elastin, but also decompose casein, gelatin, blood fibrin, hemoglobin, albumin and other proteins. It is a broad-spectrum endopeptidase. This enzyme can increase the activity of lipoprotein, has the function of a lipoprotein, can prevent the synthesis of cholesterol in the body and promote its conversion to cholic acid.
