Physicochemical properties: white or off white powder. Soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in ether. It is hygroscopic, and the aqueous solution gradually turns yellow at room temperature, resulting in turbidity, and the potency gradually decreases. Odorless, slightly bitter taste
Purpose: biochemical research. It is a semi synthetic broad-spectrum penicillin, which is resistant to gram-positive and negative bacteria. The synthesis of bacterial cell wall is inhibited by inactivating transpeptidases on the inner surface of bacterial cell membrane.
