Solubility and bioavailability enhancers.
Lipid excipients can provide an effective strategy to improve the solubility of API in water. Lipid based prescriptions can ensure or increase oral bioavailability to improve drug delivery in the body.
The oil phase with low HLB value can be used in the formulation design of high fat soluble API. If surfactants are needed to improve the solubility of API in water, self emulsifying (self) formulations containing one or more lipid excipients can be developed.
