Physicochemical properties: white crystalline powder, easy to absorb moisture. A trisaccharide obtained by hydrolyzing cottonseed cake flour or beet molasses. It is composed of D-galactose, D-glucose and L-fructose. When crystallizing from the aqueous solution, there is five molecules of crystalline water, which will be lost when slowly heated to 100 ℃. The melting point of anhydrous matter is 118 ~ 119 ℃. Soluble in water and pyridine. Very slightly soluble in ethanol. Right optical rotation
Purpose: biochemical research. Microbial culture medium and bacteriology are used for identification of intestinal bacteria
