Physicochemical properties : white tetragonal prism crystal or powder. It smells of ammonia and salty. When the heating temperature is higher than its melting point, it decomposes into biuret, ammonia and cyanuric acid. 1g is dissolved in 1ml of water, 10ml of 95% ethanol, 1ml of 95% boiling ethanol, 20ml of absolute ethanol, 6ml of methanol and 2ml of glycerol. Soluble in concentrated hydrochloric acid, almost insoluble in ether and chloroform. The pH of 10% aqueous solution is 7.2. Relative density of aqueous solution (w/w, D 184) 10% 1.027, 20% 1.054, 50% 1.145. The relative density (d 184) is 1.32. Melting point 132.7 ℃. Irritating.
Purpose: biochemical research. Antimony and tin are tested in analysis. Determine lead, calcium, copper, gallium, phosphorus, iodide and nitrate. When measuring blood urea nitrogen, prepare standard solution and measure serum bilirubin. Separation of hydrocarbons. Decompose oxides of nitrogen and nitrous acid. Prepare the culture medium. The stabilizer in the determination of uric acid by Folin method is homogeneous precipitation.
