Physicochemical properties: white or colorless monoclinic crystal. It turns red easily. It is unstable in the air and easy to hydrolyze with water to form Brown lead dioxide and acetic acid. Soluble in benzene, chloroform, nitrobenzene and hot glacial acetic acid, soluble in concentrated hydrogen Halic acid to form halolead acid (h2pbx6). Relative density (D174) 2.228. Melting point 175 ~ 180 ℃. It is oxidizing. There is a possibility of cancer. Avoid contact with skin.
Storage: sealed in ampoules or moistened with glacial acetic acid, sealed in a cool place.
Use: selective oxidant for organic synthesis.
