Physicochemical properties (the following information is for reference only): colorless to light yellow volatile thin liquid. It has strong aromatic and pungent smell. After long storage, the color becomes darker and thicker. Soluble in ether, glacial acetic acid, chloroform and 1 ~ 2 volumes of 70% ethanol, almost insoluble in water. The boiling point is about 250 ℃. Specific rotation α］ 25D＜-1°10′。
