Purpose: biochemical research. Herbicides, plant growth agents, organic microanalysis standards for the determination of carbon and hydrogen. 2,4-D is a representative synthetic plant growth hormone (auxin). It showed high activity in common quantitative method of plant growth hormone, but its effect was rather low in oat elongation test using standard quantitative method of plant growth hormone. When treated with chromic acid, it is purple and can be used for colorimetric quantification. This substance is widely used as a herbicide and an agent to prevent early fruit shedding. When it is scattered into the soil, it can be decomposed by bacteria such as gram-negative cocci and Flavobacterium aquatile.
