Mucin
Item No.: P0057
Store at: 2~8℃
CAS No.: 84195-52-8
Grade: br
Extraction source: bovine submandibular gland
Product Description: a dry powder suitable as a substrate for neuraminidase Bovine submaxillary mucin has a molecular weight of 4~40 × 105Da. The molecule consists of major and minor components with a protein moiety(36.6% of the molecula) and a carbohydrate moiety(56.7 of the molecule)
Physicochemical properties : white or yellowish brown powder. The sugar chain of mucin accounts for more than 50% of the total molecular weight, sometimes up to 80%. Monosaccharides are bound to the side chains of nuclear proteins by O-glycosidic bonds and covalently bound to each other to form huge molecules with a molecular weight of millions. The molecule contains a large amount of water, forming a colloid and covering the mucosal surface.
Purpose: biochemical research. Mucin is the main component produced by epithelial cells and plays a role in protecting and lubricating cells. This product is only for scientific research
Storage: 2 ~ 8 ° C
