Physicochemical properties:Light yellow crystalline powder or crystal. Lectins with application value for hematological research were extracted from snail protein glands. Snails in China belong to terrestrial shellfish agate snails. The isolation, purification methods and physicochemical properties of lectins in mucus, lymph and protein glands are different. The lectin in its protein gland is a kind of cold lectin, which is special. Its hemagglutination activity is highly dependent on temperature. The optimum temperature of lectin in protein gland is 13 ℃, the hemagglutination activity exists at 4 ~ 27 ℃, and disappears at 30 ℃.

Purpose:Biochemical research. Snail lectin can agglutinate blood cells, so as to promote the study of Hematology. It is used in cytology, hematology and biotechnology research.
