 Physicochemical Properties: reddish brown powder. It is easily soluble in pyridine, water and glycol, and very slightly soluble in ethanol, ethyl acetate, xylene, acetone, chloroform, benzyl alcohol and olive oil. The aqueous solution is blue red, and there is brown precipitation when adding hydrochloric acid. It is green in concentrated sulfuric acid, and there are blue brown precipitates after dilution.

Purpose: biochemical research. Biological staining. Protein staining in chromatography and electrophoresis.
