Properties: Soluble in water and dilution buffer.Alkaline phosphatase can catalyze the removal of 5 ′ phosphate groups of DNA, RNA, ribonucleoside triphosphate and deoxyriboside triphosphate.Since the DNA fragments treated with CIP lack the 5 'phosphate terminal required by ligase, they cannot be self ligated (1). This feature can reduce the background of vector DNA during cloning.
