Purpose: biochemical research. Acid base indicator. Determine the alkalinity of most mineral acids, strong alkalis and water. Volumetric determination of tin (SN # 2 + discolors methyl orange when hot). Strong reducing agents (Ti3 +, CR2 +) and strong oxidizing agents (chlorine, bromine) are decolorizing indicators. Spectrophotometric Determination of chlorine, bromine and bromine ions. It can be mixed with indigo sodium disulfonate or bromocresol green to shorten the color gamut and improve the sharpness of color change. Redox indicator, such as trivalent arsenic or antimony for potassium bromate titration.
