Physicochemical properties: white or off white crystalline powder. Slightly soluble in water, dilute hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide solution, very slightly soluble in alcohol. Odorless and slightly bitter. Dissolve 1.6g in 100ml water at 20 ℃. It is slightly soluble in dilute hydrochloric acid and alkali hydroxide solution, and is easy to hydrolyze in dilute inorganic acid to produce hypoxanthine and D-ribose. White needle like crystals. It tastes slightly bitter. Very slightly soluble in ethanol. The maximum absorption wavelength is 248.5nm at pH 6, ε 12200, minimum absorption wavelength 223nm, absorbance ratio A250 / a260 = 1.68, A280 / a260 = 0.25, A290 / a260 = 0.03. LD50 (rat, abdominal cavity) 2900mg / kg
