Physicochemical properties: yellow red powder or crystalline tablets. Soluble in water and ethanol, insoluble in ether and chloroform. The aqueous solution is orange yellow, the ethanol solution is orange, the hydrochloric acid has no change on the aqueous solution, it is yellow red when it meets sodium hydroxide, and crystalline calcium salt is formed when it meets calcium chloride. The maximum absorption wavelength is 475nm. The minimum lethal dose (mouse, abdominal cavity) was 130mg / kg. Irritating. PH discoloration range: 11.5 (yellow) ~ 14.0 (orange red)
Purpose: biochemical research. Acid base indicator and biological stain. Used for Mallory's connective tissue staining, etc. SDS capillary electrophoresis is a standard for protein separation and a tracking dye for nucleic acid electrophoresis. It migrates faster than bromophenol blue and can detect smaller DNA fragments.
